In 2015 the decision was taken to restore the church in order to increase the average number of visitors and with the help of the project management company Regional Consulting & Management SA, design UTILITAS CCPDRPC SRL, respectively technical assistance Ostentum SRL, the project “Rehabilitation and introduction into the tourist circuit of the reformed church Aiud” was implemented, obtaining European funds through the Regional Operational Programme 2014 – 2020, Priority Axis 5 – Improvement of the urban environment and conservation, protection and sustainable use of cultural heritage, Investment Priority 5. 1 – Conservation, protection, promotion and development of natural and cultural heritage. On 15 June 2017, the financing contract no. 41 was signed with the Ministry of Regional Development, Public Administration and European Funds (current name: Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration) as Managing Authority and the Regional Development Agency Centru as Intermediate Body, and on 25 July 2018, following the competitive procurement procedure, the rehabilitation works contract was signed with Decorint SRL. The works started on 2 September 2018. The deadline for completion of the project is 31.12.2023.

The aim of the project: to increase the tourist attractiveness of the Aiud
Reformed Church by exploiting its potential, following the restoration and tourist promotion of the monument.
Through the implementation of the project an average increase of the annual number of visitors to the Aiud Reformed Church by 6% is expected.

The specific objectives of the project are:
1. To enhance the value of the Aiud Reformed Church through its rehabilitation, in order to fully integrate the monument into the tourist circuit.
2. To increase the accessibility of the Aiud Reformed Church to all categories of tourists.
3. To promote the project and the tourist offer of the Aiud Reformed Church.
Project result: it is a heritage objective (LMI code: AB-II-m-A-00172.02 – Reformed Church).
Start date: 01 October 2015
Implementation period: 75 months from the signing of the funding contract.
The total value of the project is 18.491.727,34 lei, of which 14.562.622,83 lei EU contribution (ERDF), 2.569.874,60 lei national contribution.
